In fact, it takes a planet-obliterating laser to the expected paces of a theme park ride: You’ll snake through ancient caves harboring the Resistance’s hideout, get recruited by Rey and BB-8, board a transport bound for Princess Leia’s secret base and maybe find yourself abducted onto a First Order Star Destroyer-but that’s all on foot, and all before even buckling a seat belt. Rise of the Resistance is conjuring jaw-on-the-floor illusions while everything else is playing simple tricks: The centerpiece attraction in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is unlike any other ride we’ve ever been on. ![]()
